I was talking to my friend the other day about how music has come to what it is today. I’m a 90’s child. I grew up listening to Pop/R&B/HipHop because of the MTV and “The Box”, soft rock because of the music my mom listened to during her time era, and freestyle music (if you don’t know, google it) because of my party crazed uncles. I think we can all agree that this era we live in currently, is being dominated by the EDM scene. I came to two really intriguing thoughts about the future. One, are our kids going to be weirded out when we are jamming out to the music we are listening to now?
“Hey pops, why are you listening to dance music leisurely?”
“Yo dad, you’re not cool… why are you listening to J Cole?”
And two, what do you think the music genre is going to be like when we are old and grey? Some food for thought…
